DAVID BATLLE director

A geography graduate from the Universitat de Barcelona in 2004, he studied  for two years at the Barcelona EMAV (Audiovisual Media School). Later on, he joined the V Edition of the Master in Creative Documentary at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2006/2007) and began to collaborate with Estudi Playtime in the following projects: Script development for “Cuchillo de Palo” by Renate Costa. Documentation for “Distancias” by Pilar Monsell. And research and documentation for “Morir de día” by Sergi Dies and Laia Manresa.

Since 2009, he is a member of the video streaming group formed at HANGAR (Visual Arts Production Centre) in Barcelona. He is a creator in the experimental laboratory for real time internet video with free software. As well as the laboratory, they also deliver workshops and audiovisual documentation in cultural events.

CARLOS VÁSQUEZ  cinematographer
Carlos Vásquez was born in 1975 in Santiago, Chile. He studied cinema at Escuela de Cine de Chile, and documentary cinema at the Master in Creative Documentary at Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona. He actually lives and works in Spain and Chile. He worked on several films as director of photography and camera operator, including “Rabia” (2006), directed by Oscar Cárdenas presented at Toulouse and San Sebastian Film Festivals, “Cuchillo de Palo” (2010), Premier world at Berlinale, directed by Renate Costa and “Holidays” directed by Víctor Moreno exhibited in the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Film Festival . He was sound recorder for “Manuel y Elisa” directed by Manuel Fernández-Valdez, winner of best galegan documentary award in PlayDoc 2008. In 2005 he directed “Raíz Desterrada”, a medium lenght documentary film which was presented at FIDOCS 2005 –Santiago International Documentary Films Festival, Chile. He also directed the following short films, “Es fuster” (2008) for BTV from Catalonia and “La Columna”(2009) Premier world at FIDMarseille . Now is working in his first feauture film “Los árboles”.

AMANDA VILLAVIEJA sound
After obtaining the Master in Creative Documentary from Pompeu Fabra University in 1998 and creating some documentary short pieces, Amanda Villavieja has worked as sound technician for the last ten years, both in documentary and fiction feature films, and also for television documentaries. Highlights include the following prize-winning films: En construcción (José Luis Guerín, 2000),  Tierra Negra (Ricardo Íscar, 2004), El Cielo Gira (Mercedes Álvarez, 2005), La Leyenda del Tiempo (Isaki Lacuesta, 2006), La Cicatriz (Pablo Llorca, 2006), The Other Truth (Abel García, 2008),  Nadar (Carla Subirana, 2008.) and Cuchillo de Palo (Renate Costa, 2010). She is currently working on the next film by Isaki Lacuesta, Hugo’s voice.
